Avenida Melián (Belgrano R)
A cobblestone avenue in Belgrano R that runs under a tunnel of old trees, with big European style houses and gardens on both sides. Nothing to queue for and nothing to buy a ticket to: this is the residential Buenos Aires almost no visitor gets to see.
💬 Your driver's tipWalk the five blocks between La Pampa and Olazábal. The corner at Juramento is where the few shops are, and the bakery on it, Central Pan, is the natural stop; the rest is houses and gardens. At number 1880 stands the Buenos Aires English High School, founded in 1884 by Alexander Watson Hutton, the Scot remembered as the father of Argentine football. Chinatown and the Larreta museum are a few minutes away, so it fits into the same Belgrano outing.
